Christoph Schlemmer is a German actor, singer, and playwright. He is best known for his comedic stage roles as Robert in Boeing-Boeing, Tom in Perfect Wedding, and Sydney Hopcroft in Absurd Person Singular. He won the Critics Choice NRW Award 2007 for Best Actor in Absurd Person Singular. His stage work includes the German premieres of Raised in Captivity and Clocks and Whistles. He starred as the lawyer Biegler in Germany´s most successful and acclaimed contemporary court drama, Terror, touring Germany, Austria, and Switzerland from 2016 to 2019. The company of Terror won the Inthega Theatre Award 2017 for Best Stage Production On Tour. His film and TV credits feature international movies such as Catalina (PL/BA 2017) and My German Boyfriend (CAN/D 2004). He has also guest starred in many popular German TV movies and crime series such as SOKO and Tatort. He is the author of the one-man comedy shows My Mother and Barbra Streisand and After 3 beers I feel straight. In 2012 he wrote and directed the acclaimed comedy Happy Reincarnation at Theaterforum Kreuzberg in Berlin. He won the Italian Playwright Award 2022 Il Premio Carlo Annoni for Best International Play for Happy Reincarnation. In June 2023 he makes his debut at Deutsche Oper Berlin playing Paulo in the world premiere of Il Teorema di Pasolini by Giorgio Battistelli directed by Dead Centre. In cooperation with Goethe Institute he prepares the Italian premiere of Happy Reincarnation in Milano. Besides his stage and film work he writes and performs German pop music. He works voluntarily in refugee aid and leads a theatre group for kids with mental stress disorders.
